About This Hardware Experience a new level of precise control for your favorite games. The Steam Controller lets you play your entire collection of Steam games on your TV—even the ones designed without controller support in mind. The Steam Controller features dual trackpads, HD haptic feedback, dual-stage triggers, back grip buttons, and fully-customizable control schemes. Find your favorite mappings in the Steam Community, or create and share your own.A different kind of gamepadWe’ve improved upon the resolution and fidelity of input that’s possible with traditional gamepads. Built with high-precision input technologies and focused on low-latency, wireless performance, the Steam controller enables you to experience your games in powerful new ways.Dual trackpadsThe Steam Controller‘s dual trackpads enable the high-fidelity input required for precise PC gaming in the living room. Allowing for 1:1 absolute position input via virtual controls like a trackball, adaptive centering joystick, or steering wheel, these surfaces can be programmed to serve up whatever a game needs.HD hapticsHaptic force actuators on both sides of the controller deliver precise, high fidelity vibrations measured in microseconds. Feel the spin of a virtual trackball, the click of a scroll wheel, or the shot of a rifle. Every input, from the triggers to the trackpads, can offer haptic feedback to your fingertips, delivering vital, high-bandwidth, tactile feedback about speed, boundaries, thresholds, textures, or actions.Dual-stage triggersWith a satisfying digital click at the end of the trigger pull, dual-stage triggers can be used as analog, digital, or both types of input at the same time. Put your iron-sights on the sweep-in, and then fire with the reliable feel of a tactile switch, all on the same trigger.Ergonomic controlEach of the Steam Controller’s input zones and buttons has been positioned based on frequency of use, required precision, and ergonomic comfort. a09c17d780 Title: Steam ControllerManufacturer:Valve Steam Controller Free Download its okay for minecraft i guess. As someone who has been using mainly an xbox (360 or one) gamepad for so long this did take me some time to get used to. I finally feel comfortable with it after 2 years or so of owning it. best advice is to just get tons of practise and find whats right for you. Everyones milage will vary since its so much different than any other controller out there.. Loved this product, took me sometime to get used to it since the controller has such a different but amazing design along with how I was used to my good ol' ps4 dualshock. I loved this controller and a definite buy. A better controller if you'd prefer the right touch pad to a stick and the customised controls in steam but the build quality is absolute rubbish for buttons to start breaking in 6 months. after using this controller for awhile now i can't fully recommend it, I moved to PC from console a few years ago and in my opinion a more traditional lay out is much nicer to use i could not get used to the touch pad, however if you don't really use controllers and play the all your games with mouse and keyboard this controller could be a really good option for you! while i don't like it i can see it's merit over all it's a pretty damn good controller. A bit difficult to get used to if your familier with ps4\/xbox controllers. but once you do its a really good controller. Lots of buttons which you wouldnt think are necessary but they are actually really helpful. had mine for a year now and its nothing wrong has ever happened to it.. Would be great, except for the sheer lazy attitude from Steam themselves. What do I mean by this? I mean that the vast majority of titles with both official and\/or user controller profiles are unavailable unless you bought the Steam version of the game. If you for example have a title only on Ubisoft, none of the created profiles for said title will be available to you directly and you have to jump through hoops to download them elsewhere and install them as a custom profile. Not cool at all! Not cool when you consider that the platform and controller are both being provided by the same people, a slight adjustment to the Steam software would allow you to access all profiles, it wouldn't be hard, this is just a case of one of two things, perhaps both. One being laziness, the other being pig headed. Either way or both I would not recommend this controller until Steam pull their finger out.. After getting used to it and using it for quite a while now, it not only enables comfortable casual game play when not seated at my PC but also effectively acts as a PC 'remote'. That is pretty handy for YouTube's TV view mode (\/tv#) and general PC use when not at my desk.. I own four of these. I have tried them on dozens of games. They have given me more trouble than any other controller I have ever owned. They are rarely compatible with steam games, especially fighting games. Perhaps these issues will change over time. However, after several years I can say with confidence that I regret my purchases.
