After your submarine and crew are warped to outer space during a faulty equipment test, it's up to you to select your crew from Scouts, Engineers, and Gunners, and equip them with a variety of gear, grenades, and weapons, ranging from pistols and shotguns to rocket launchers. The gameplay's more RTS-like controls threw me off pretty bad at first, but you quickly become accustomed to the game's mechanics via a comprehensive, easy to follow tutorial. The effects of the game are very simplistic, with explosions not packing much of a punch, and enemy designs appearing somewhat rudimentary. The lighting and animation of your crew members is pretty well done, however, although the resolution \/ textures are quite basic, the low-lit environments and somewhat smokey ambiance add to your immersion. The one thing that bugs me the most about this game is that the UI \/ display of the commands you can give your team take up a LARGE portion of the bottom of the screen and obstruct your view of your divers \/ spacemen as they float along through the surreal, ambiguous environments. It's not a game-breaking obstruction, but it just hides a lot of your view up close of your team as they navigate the terrain, which is fun to watch as they bound along in low gravity, but harder to see due to this situation. The game lacks controller support of any kind and is strictly mouse+keyboard for better or for worse. The game features full voice-acting during mission intros and a variety of tasks to complete during missions. I could see the repetition of the environments possibly wearing thin a bit into the game, but so far I have enjoyed myself.. This game could be pretty decent, but the one thing that holds it back, is the fact the controls are so clunky that it's to much of a pain to even try.. Can only give Tales from the Void a big thumbs up.This is a original game with a really good narrative, which creates a unique immersive experience. Cant help getting sucked into the old time british atmosphere, which is spot on. The combination of a 1st worldwar submarine, its crew and strange aliens is very original and all the missions I have been on sofar reflects this in an interesting peculiar way. After getting familiar with the alternative controls, it gets really funny to play and the combination of resource management and action is really well balanced giving a good game experience. It is definately worth your money giving you hours of great entertainment!. It's a different type of game I'll give it that. The bumbling marines have a certain amount of free will, but will try their hardest to follow your orders. It's like directing a ship full of fools. They'll shoot each other if you don't tell them to get out of the line of fire. They'll bounce right off the edge of the map if you tell them to go at a faster speed than they have the ability to maintain a sense of balance at. Meteors will rain down, aliens will attack. But your slow helpless marines are loyal to the end, usually a bitter end. It's entertaining if you need something to fill your time. I got it on sale online for about 15 cents, and I'd say I got more than my money's worth so far. It's entertaining when I need something to kill some time. Or some marines. Whichever comes first really.. This game is fun, and unpredictable with the wonky physics :)Try it out.Check out gameplay from an early mission here.https://youtu.be/3YE2_VU0KcI. OK that's a different one review. This game is actually an weird experience. It's actually a pretty good survival simulator. The first time you start you can feel-like the controls are bad-your troopers fall all the time down the cliffsSo why give here a good rating ?Well the game is based that a WW1 Submarine got lost in space. And actually there the game does start to make sense. Its like a game for H. G. Wells books. The Physics are maybe the greatest enemy. With some training it's actually feels like a pretty good Simulation. Its actually pretty funny to see how recoil works in low gravity. A lot of weapons do backfire.Like rocket launcher, instead of just do the damage, it does push all stuff around from explosion wave and does damage them. Had once this funny thing, did fire my rocket launcher, killed my crew man and the other was pushed from the asteroid by the explosion wave.Best part of the game are in my opinion the monsters you do fight, they get after each level more and more dangerous. Each weapon has its own behaviour. Each level is completely different designed. It feels pretty good if you manage to survive here.. I like the game, you know, at some moments it reminded me something like Starcraft 2 by theme, choice of missions through the choice of planets and other stuff :) The only thing that really interferes in this game is camera reviews, sometimes it's just "wild." Good game, especially if you did not buy it, but got through some giveaways or 5 or 10 random keys pack. EDIT: After giving it multiple second thoughts, I have changed my mind about the way I wish to review this game. The only problem i found myself having was the camera angle sometimes got in the way. This game has beautiful graphics, unique controls, an amazing atmosphere, and definitely a fresh feel. This game is new and can only grow from here.-------------------I don't know if it's a problem on my end, but this game's physics and controls are just so unbearable. If you like overly difficult games that have poor controls and over exaggerated physics you might like this game. 3.5/10Definitely has potential. Definitely is a cool concept. Definitely is not for me.
